The current voting system has been up and running for a couple of seasons now. Our team wanted to make our voting process as authentic as possible. We understand that players will always look for ways to exploit the system. For this reason, we considered several different voting methods before selecting our current MVP voting model. For instance, were we to limit each agent to one vote each, players with multiple accounts would be given an unfair advantage. We still believe the current is the fairest way to select League MVP's.
In regards to limiting votes or providing "bonus votes," the maximum number of votes available in a single MVP voting period is 14,592 and there are no bonus votes awarded in any way. It is important to remember that in Basketball Dream, you are a sports agent, representing multiple clients. Even as a team owner or as a staff member for a team, or for multiple teams, you are representing individual clients or personalities in each job or position. We do not currently have managerial or coaching profiles in the game, so we understand how this can be confusing at times. But, players of Basketball Dream should understand that holding staff positions for multiple teams at one time should not become an opportunity to let personal bias control how or when they vote. We have observed that some players/agent’s spread their votes around, while others use their full voting power to support single players. We neither support nor condemn either practice, but ask that if players/agents are unable to cast MVP votes without personal bias, we suggest only accepting 1 staff position per league.
Voting Breakdown:
A maximum MVP voting total of 14,592 may only be reached with 32 player-owned teams, each employing a full team staff, all carrying full 15-player rosters, with everyone eligible to vote using all of their votes daily during a 12 day voting period. Here is a breakdown of how the votes for each individual league are distributed:
● Owners receive 5 votes each day during the 12 day voting period.
● Team staff members receive 2 votes each day during the same period.
● Each player within a particular league receives 1 vote per day, for as long as they remain on the team roster during the voting period.
When the voting turnout percentage is low, those who exercise their right to vote will have more influence on the results.
So, how does one help their own player or MVP candidate gain the support needed to be named as a League MVP?
● Put up great numbers for a winning team. Only the players who make big impacts for good teams will be considered to be the MVP for their league. In Basketball Dream, we use our own system, PCV (Player Contribution Value), to evaluate each players’ performance in games. Having a high PCV value in your team’s games will increase your chances of being selected by the system as an MVP candidate.
● Play for the right team.
When playing for a loaded team, your player(s) may not regularly put up the type of numbers which will help them stand out. Teams’ coaching strategies vary. Agents whose player(s) aspire to be in the running for MVP honors should look for the right opportunities for their player(s) to shine. When reviewing offers from teams, check their Top Threats and review the box scores from their recent games to anticipate how your player(s) would be utilized.
● Promote your candidate.
There are only 6 candidates on each league ballot. Running a good campaign to gather votes for your candidate(s) is the agent's duty. Communication is key. Create and post ads on the group page to convince other players that your player should be elected as the League MVP. At the very least, use a player’s team message board to rally support from his/her teammates. Every candidate has been deemed worthy of their nomination. Make your player stand out.
● Make friends, not enemies.
It is much easier to convince friends to vote for your players than it is with enemies. Being kind and respectful to other players in your league definitely helps a lot.
We are working hard to escape from xxxxbook's dictatorship. They continue to make it more and more difficult for developers to operate within their system while continually increasing the costs to do so. There are more game improvements in the works. We are currently developing an evaluation system for team owners which would consider championships, finances, winning percentage, etc.
No matter how many teams you run, we hope you remain dedicated to your teams.
Win Championships. Help players develop. Become a legendary owner...
example: Prince Nicolas is on the way to tying the record for most championships in Dream League history.
By the way:
The goal of capping D-League signees to C+ is to have the best players compete at the highest level in the game. This cap may be adjusted as required, depending on circumstances.
It's 2020 and Basketball Dream has been online since 2012.
